Another trip to add to my travel list. It's ever more terrific that the micro-nation of Portugal has so much variety. There are unifying qualities, of course, like good natured people who live in the present. Another commonality is the historical impact of the terrible earthquake of 1755. It's often referred to as if it was recent. Pardon my rambling, but my wife's flight into Faro is delayed an hour and I've nothing better to do. Well, there's always people watching at the arrivals hall. Everyone smiles because they are already decompressing upon entry into this blessed country. By the way, the EasyJet flight was on-time but the British Airways flight scheduled for the same time is two hours late. And more expensive....just sayin'!
A lifetime:) moving there in 2 weeks. We went to visit in March, fell hard for Caldas, within 2 days made a deal on a new construction attached home. Thank you Nancy, excellent post!! (hope you got to try Ze Povinho restaurant),
Love this post. Sounds like my kind of town!
An excellent overview...and the city park is beautiful in all seasons.
Caldas da Rainha is the kind of town that grows on you.
