Excellent information and not cranky at all. Realistic and informative. Basically, don't waste other people's time just because you are on vacation or whatever. The transportation is one of the things I really miss about living in Europe. I truly enjoy the options there.
Thanks for sharing these tips. A dose of reality is a good thing. Now then, about my scouting trip... With two great friends who will be holding my hand, I will be hoofing it (more likely huffing and puffing) around much of the country next month. It would be great to meet you two to hear more doses of reality along those bits that make you glad you are there.
Great information! March 2022 when we went there for an exploratory 3 months. We rented a car. Argh! 2 weeks later, when we went to return it at the airport - you know, the COVID thing, we didn’t get any refund back. So, another point. If you get a car, once you have it, it’s yours for the entire time you paid for it - no refunds.
When we return we will have our dog with us. (100lb Rhodesian ridgeback) Still trying to decide how to manage that transportation. I know most places in Europe we traveled with him on the train - but unsure of Portugal rules. Working on that!
They do! He’d either go TAP Cargo (separate flight) if pet. but he is a registered service dog so I’d just buy an additional seat and plenty of room at my (and husbands) feet!
(⊙_⊙) did I hear trip planning advise!! be careful what you ask for! lol

Nancy, I think you are every bit as nice as Elizabeth…….you simply have added reality to what everyone hopes for.
Please don’t tell anyone … I have a reputation to maintain

Great info! Onix came underneath on TAP. While i was a nervous mom throughout all was well. Not sure if they have a weigh limitation.
