We have walked through the Parc Marechal Carmona at least a hundred times. But on this particular day, I spent €2 to go inside the Palace of the Condes of Castro Guimarães. There are more photos of the palace on my Facebook page, but for now, I just want to share two plaques I found in the interior garden.
And the second, in Spanish. My clue was the upside-down question mark.
It translates to:
They tell of a wise man who one day was so poor and miserble that we only sustained himself with some herbs that he cooked. Could there be another (he said among himself) poorer and sadder than me? And when he turned his face, he found the answer, seeing that another wise man was picking up the leaves that he had thrown.
Something to think about …
Next Week: taking a toktok to Christ, Europe is on vacation and my first trip to the dentist.
Great message.
Makes me think of all the places I passed by in my life without going in. Deviate on the path of life, heh Nancy! There are surprises and enlightenment behind closed doors
