It seems to me that air conditioners in Portuguese stores are only slightly more common than unicorns. You can find dozens of them advertised, but none are ever in stock! I'm happy to hear that yours was finally delivered, installed, and that no tradespeople were harmed in the process. It's only 10:30am in Lisbon, but I'd advise going for a drink!
That everyone is still alive and (presumably) uninjured is testament to your ... patience? forbearance? not having easy access to a sufficient weapon? Something. Regardless, you're almostthere. Soclose. It looks amazing! Hang in there and may the remaining problems resolve quickly.
Place looks wonderful and the furniture is beautiful. Good job! I have loved following your journey. I know at this point in my life, I wouldn't have the patience to deal with the blame game. I know from close friends that have also dealt with one blaming the other. Now you get to breathe and enjoy. Though from experience, there are probably little things to still finish up. Cheers!
You two have the patience of a saint! I just can't imagine all the stress you've been through the past few months. You will have the most beautiful home when it is finally finished. Cheers to both of you.
You've done such a beautiful job on your home. You two have such patience and perseverance and the finished product is nothing less than a showpiece and masterpiece. Absolutely stunning..so well done! Congrats!
Onyx, I hope you find solace on the same level as the canon balls (I must say so beautifully placed) so you can take naps up on one of the shelves.
I remember some of the furniture pieces vividly white visiting the furniture district with you and the snazzy green chairs. I will bring a white towel to sit in if I get to sit in those beauties. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your home looks "fantastic". So glad everything worked out, even though not as planned. It will interesting over time how energy efficient your home ends up being, and when you choose to run AC and eventually turn on the underfloor heating.
Wow. Just wow, Nanc. How far you have come with your project. Your home is stunning, gorgeous a work of art. So thoroughly thought out and designed. It will be an inspiring place to live. I have a vivid memory of its rubble-filled condition when you gave me the tour last early November, explaining your plan as I tried to imagine the finished spaces. I hope now that it’s actualized it’s everything you envisioned.
As impressive as the design, is your presence of mind all this time (at least outwardly 😀). Any one of the hundreds of annoyances along the way would have driven me batshit. Hadn’t ordered the AC unit until “this morning?”
It looks beautiful, and this journey is almost over...or rather a new one is just beginning. Do you have floor plans and precise drawings? Find out as much as you can about everything.... big ask but the depth of the floor heating is a key element to write down somewhere and there maybe 10 or 20 more things that are just as key. It doesn’t sound like when these builders are gone that they will be responsive to questions that may arise. Just saying....

I love that you asked him if he knew it was summer - I had to go find my lower jaw when I read that he tried ordering the unit THAT DAY!
What a beautiful home you designed!
Ah, yes, working by Portuguese time. It never ceases to amaze me. Breathe. It all works out in the end. If it hasn't worked out, it isn't the end!

The contractor chromosome is universally dicey. I love your woven light fixtures!
You win the award of patience with this project. It’s lovely
So close.

Congratulations to you and Denise.

Everything looks so nice. I've been to a few of your houses over the years and it feels like walking through a work of art.
