Love this story ... it's so relatable ... and perfect for Portugal Living Magazine! (Especially with the magnificent photographs!) We're working on your next story -- "Too Many Joaos and Anas" -- to be published in our next issue. We had "Freedom Makes You Dance" scheduled for the issue after that ... but are thinking that this might be a better story for the magazine. What do you think?
OMG you have quite a project planned! My mind is still reeling at the thought of €37,000 in taxes on the building materials🙀. Good luck! I can’t wait to see the photos of the finished product and really enjoy being taken along on the journey. Enjoy the process. I’m sure it’s going to be absolutely amazing when it’s done.
Glad to see full size windows being put in on the street. It's a pleasure following your progress in the building and your lives. Your thoughts on all topics are stimulating and of value to me, keep up the great work. My wife, daughter and her partner will be visiting Algarve/Tavira the end of Sept. thru Oct. and it would be a great pleasure to meet you and Denise some time and share a few moments.
Wow, I really admire your bravery and patience to take on such an enormous project! I so enjoy following all your updates and research. I’m learning a lot from you about Portugal. I hope to come back to your area for a longer stay later in the year. My husband and I have planned to be more on the southwest shores late august/September for 18 days. He loves the beaches! From all the other expat blogs I understand that finding a long term rental is pretty tough, if not impossible, this time of the year. What advice can you give me if I want to find something in VRSA or Monte Gordo for mid to late October for 4-6 weeks? Any special rental agent or agency. I signed up with one service but all their info is in Portuguese, and a lot of their listings are outdated. Muito obrigada! Love to your little doggie!

Bruce, thanks for thinking that. We would love the publicity! Let’s just update when the time comes.
Such exciting news!
I am very pleased to know that it is going well.

October shouldn’t be a problem…but use VRBO, AirBNB or Booking.com for short term rentals.
So very exciting! Thanks for sharing.
