Thank you for addressing this issue. There is so much misinformation on the part of Americans about what Socialism /Democratic Socialism is, and people who vote against their own best interest. While traveling abroad full time for several years, I met people all over the world who are shocked at our healthcare system, For example, that it’s tied into our jobs. It makes no sense to them (or to me!)

Thanks for today's thinking exercise. Seems it all comes down to clever marketing and positive brand recognition. We need to work on the brand of socialism. Or...come up with a super new 'product' that is called Democracy for All Who Wave Flags or something along those lines, but which is still, at its core, true to the aims of socialism to provide sufficient safety nets for our society.

Yes, exactly! It is hard to explain what socialism really means when a loud and powerful group of people keep yelling lies and misinformation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Another excellent article, Nancy. I love the comment about people complaining about socialists as they cash their social security checks. It's on par with the complaints we heard during the Trump years from people who said "Yes, get rid of Obamacare, but don't touch my ACA insurance".
