“…don’t share the same biological clock.”

Hilarious, but a common handicap. I submit that the issue here is genetic seclusion of the population cohort that left Europe for the “New World “, thereby creating a cultural “jet lag “ leaving Estados Unitians five hours and seven hundred years behind. A true Continental chronological divide.

The good news is that when the Spanish set off fireworks, as they have twice this week in Ayamonte, it is only 23:00 in Portugal.

100000 people in the same place at the same time? after 2.5 years of avoiding crowds, not sure it would thrill me. it's a new kind of ptsd, i guess. do you know anything about the popularity (ie: crowds) at the horse festival in golega or the food and wine festival in santeram? both will be on when we are traveling through portugal. they sound great on paper, well screen, but not sure what we would be in for! and people on the groups don't seem to know. just throwing it out there! look forward to meeting soon. bonnie

Not familiar with either. The estimate of the crowd size I saw in one local paper…and again that is over 4 full days through out a town.

we've been to many a renaissance festival but as you said that would have been a few centuries after the Medieval era. Then again there's usually pirates and Star Wars characters but as long as there's curly fries I'm good.
