Loved this piece Nanc, yes we too get 'all city'ed out' (city'd... citied? gerunds give me a problem) Anyway, great experiences and yes, after living in Portugal... 'too fast man' (Caribbean accent).

Another thing about Portugal is the politeness. The French use 'politesse' which conveys attitude in general rather than just situational good manners, and this politesse pervades Portuguese manners, and I love it.

Nice post and good reminder that Experiences are what remains when you have all the material things you need. And thanks too for protest pics - I see 2 new signs I will make!! 😆

grew up in London and we learned it by walking or taking the bus - so many free museums meant we were never bored in the school holidays. London is a city where you can look up and around and see the bizarre, the historical and the frankly bonkers. I also worked there for around 30 years and finally decided it was too busy and too difficult to transit to continue working silly hours (I mean, 2 hours to drive 17 miles? Really?) I do and don't miss it. I wouldn't give up my Portuguese haven and the lovely neighbours. (We Brits were quite happy with the "No Kings" as we distinguish between quality and greed. 😁)

Belated Happy Birthday Nanc. Thanks for your lovely post. It makes me want to go back to London. I haven’t been in quite a while and there were things that I missed on prior trips. I too love plays and always catch at least one when I’m there. You brought me down memory lane when you mentioned TKTS. All of my play in New York were through them or while I lived there and belonged to the Theatre Development Fund (TDF).

When I saw that you went to the rally, I was wondering what it was called. I knew that ‘No Kings’ would not be appropriate for London. I’m glad there was a good turnout. The one In Lisbon was good also though our crowd was not as large.

I too believe that experiences, and time spent with people you care about, are the best presents. Here’s to many, many more. Boa semana.
