Have you been back to the States since this post? Wondering if you found alternate flights / airlines vs TAP Air Portugal. We flew TAP - Paris Orly to Lisbon. Like you, we were not so very much impressed. OK, but not great service.
Scott, I have not been back to the States but Denise has gone twice. She flew Aug 2021 to Palm Springs to pick up a few remaining things and visit with family on the West Coast. That time she flew Lisbon to SF (TAP) and then Alaska Air to Palm Springs. No frills, but on time and reliable. Her next trip was in Feb 2022 to go to a wedding in Cancun. We had already moved to VRSA so she flew out of Seville to Madrid and then Miami. That was an Iberian/American codeshare flight. Again, on time and no frills but the code sharing did not work well and she was forced to do all seating assignments at the airports. An inconvenience.
I will be coming to Portugal with my 10 year old poodle. I want to know more about how your dog handled waiting such a long time to be able to go outside? Was there any point along the way where your dog could relieve him/herself? How many hours did your dog have to wait to go outside? Thanks
She let go as she on as we took her out of the crate and she went inside as well. 2 hrs waiting to board+8 hr flight+2 hrs till we found her crate….that said she is fine
As you can tell from the post, Victor is a very patient man. Yes we had all the time we needed. And just so you know, I also hired Victor as a travel guide. I write about this in my first post on Sintra. And he has a truck so he is helping us move to the Algarve later this month.
Hi Nancy….so what advice can you give me if I arrive at LIS with 4 bags & 2 large dogs? By myself……is it possible to get any help with luggage inside? Or is it possible to transport luggage outside & return for the pets? And where do the pets relieve themselves? 😬😬😬
We were offered assistance bypeople working in the airport…but due to the vet delay they went to lunch. We ended up getting assistance feom another passenger. Look around someone will help you. Regarding the dogs relieving themselves …outside though accidents happen. Náo faz mal
one of the most significant characteristics of my patrícios of portugal and the one that fascinates me the most is the use of the time to connect. they will spend time with detailed and long answers to the most simple and irrelevant question or coment. if greeted with a normal "good morning" or "good afternoon" you might find yourself with "yes, it is a good day, and not very humid by the way, I love temperatures under 25C but not very happy when is windy and bla bla bla bla" in short people will use their time to connect. I LOVE PORTUGAL. ( haha...this is my simple and detailed answer....entendeu?)

An American response, “yep”.
