Everything has been rather hellish since October 2nd, which happens to be my birthday! It's a very confusing moment and indeed we must just wait.

I had the pleasure of visiting a dentist while there(in PT). 140€! So A+ For the health/ dental system. At home, I was quoted $7000. Maybe a little off topic but seemed to make sense while responding.

I am dentist phobic and relayed my first Portuguese dental experience here. https://expatinportugal.substack.com/p/dentistry-in-portugal

We have also visited a dentist in VRSA who has a hygentist and required X-rays on the first visit only. After that only when indicated.

Thanks for commenting on Prime Minister Costa's resignation. I've been trying to follow the news on CNN Portugal, but it is not easy. There are so many updates to the situation. Even this article, which suggests the reference to António Costa on the wiretap was actually a reference to António Costa Silva, the minister of the economy, is confusing. I have a lot to learn about governance and politics in Portugal. https://cnnportugal.iol.pt/crise-politica/antonio-costa/erro-do-ministerio-publico-transcricao-de-escuta-troca-costa-com-ministro-da-economia/20231112/65509d21d34e371fc0b9c3ae

Can you vote in elections with your residence card or do you just sort of watch from the sidelines? I’d imagine after living in a community for a bit of time one would feel certain ways about how government operates and want to be involved in some manner?
