I found your blog when researching our month-long visit this November and enjoy the variety of your posts. It's unfortunate that those that disagree cannot be polite but don't let them get you down.
Just chiming in to support you and your right to write what you want and to be interested in and hold the opinions you want. If people don't agree, they should either RESPECTFULLY engage in a dialogue or, if unable to do so, they should take our mother's advice and keep their opinions to themselves (if they want to express said opinions, they can write their own blogs).
Please don’t feel down about the naysayers. We LOVED your Monday post. It’s been the topic of much thought as we went through the day. And just love this one too. Nancy Rocks!
Keep speaking your truth, and write about what you think and feel. There are plenty of us who appreciate it, and for those who don't, plenty of other stuff on the internet to entertain them ;)
Thank you so much for sharing all this wonderful info! It is much appreciated, I found your posts to be full of valuable insights and just so much fun reading about your adventures. Please do continue blogging, as I take so much pleasure in reading EVERY one of your posts!!
When I read your blog, I feel even more excited about moving to Portugal. I have been reading so much information about moving to and living in Portugal and your Monday post was the first one I've seen that discusses some of the other real reasons many of us may be considering permanent relocation. I believe that discussion is crucial so thank you again. Your blog is gold over blue!
Nancy, try not to let negativity get to you. Social media just took the cloak off what's always been there, that's all. I find your posts so cool and learning about your new "home" is mega interesting. Keep on doing what you're doing! Bests from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ease with which people criticize, even attack others, is astounding. It is a social media culture; perhaps it is an American culture; whatever it its, it's an abominable cultural trait. I've lived in Portugal for years and find your posts bring something new to my attention, deepen my understanding of a topic, in a truly enjoyable manner. I feel that you're giving so much of yourself to all of us and appreciate every post, regardless of the topic. I appreciate you.
Zoe, I do agree that social media has made it somehow easier to be ugly...again anonymous posts vs. face-to-face exchange of ideas. I fondly remember an America that wasn't so ugly. Or perhaps it was the innocence of youth...
First of all, it’s your blog and you can write what you want. I personally look forward to your posts because they are informative about Portugal and encourage me to look deeper into my world which currently is in Hawai’i. Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts . I hope you continue to share with us.
Lovely and interesting post, Nancy! We've lived here for 2 years as you know and I find myself learning so much about Portugal through your experiences... Thank God you write about them so eloquently xx
