Thank you for another fascinating post. Senior discounts rock! Flixbus and CP have them, too.

Safe and continued adventures in this new year, filled with potential for good.

Feliz ano novo!🥂🎉 Córdoba is such a fascinating place. The Moorish influence, the Mezquita, and the gardens of the Alcázar are among my favorite memories of our travels there. I’m glad you two enjoyed it!

I invested in getting my officially old status last year and love all the benefits. It’s better than having a Costco membership. The only downside is when some smart mouth kid calls me “Boomer.” They are easily dispatched with a sucker punch, because the stereotypes are strong in them and they don’t expect agility and a mean left hook from a geezer.

Spain and Portugal are two countries in Europe I never got around to visit, although I did spend a lot of time in their former colonies, especially Mozambique. As colonialists go, both countries were fairly low on the colony quality list. They tended to intermarry more with the locals, but were pretty brutal about opportunities for the local people. Even after 500 years as colonies, both Angola and Mozambique were woefully underdeveloped outside the major cities after independence, and there were very few educated locals to take over the reigns of government. The Belgians were worst because of what they did to the Congo, but Mozambique and Angola were basket cases for many years.

beautiful place wow. We just face-timed with my sister-in-law who lives about 2 hours south of where you are. She was out for a sunset walk. She spun the phone around and we could see the rock of Gibraltar in the distance. Enjoy your trip!
