The thought of getting on, off different trains sounds stressful. Redo-express seems like a no brained where you can simply people watch and sightsee without having to schlep your luggage.
I am so happy you got to experience the Pergola. Did you meet Concalao, Joseph and Maryanne? Those breakfasts are to die for. Having stayed there 6 times, I am happy knowing you got to expect what what we considered the best B n B in Portugal.
Thank you for taking us along, I very much enjoyed it. Maybe you could entice Denise to occasionally take a photo of you taking one of these wonderful photos. Kind of a behind the scenes snapshot!
Took a recent Rede Express ( express my ass!) bus from Sete Rios to Lagos. 5 1/2 hours without a bathroom is not my idea of making the planet a better place to live, given the risks of homicidal ideations and permanently staining the seats. The maybe slower but utilizes both modern plumbing and offers libations. A slam dunk IMHO. Love your writing; keep keeping it real.
Really enjoyed your thorough description of the various transportation options! You really do your homework and make life a lot easier for others who want to follow in your footsteps. One question: Are dogs allowed on public transportation? I hope you had a wonderful time in Cascais!

What a beautiful B & B! Interesting info on trains and busses as well! Thank you!
I too, have taken pictures of Pergola through the gate (it's just so beautiful)! It's so nice to have an "inside" peak :)

Thanks for sharing your experience…sorry it wasn’t as smooth as Ajah’s.

Yes though some conductors will ask to see the dog’s “passport” (shot record) and want the dog muzzled.
However if the dog is sitting quietly at your feet most don’t bother.
