My wife and I have been to Portugal on several occasions and stayed in Lisbon, Porto and the small town of Silves at a place called Inn Tapada Do Gramacho. It is is the middle of no where but you could walk to Silves using a trail. We enjoyed all 3 places we stayed and have kept in touch will the owners of the apartment in Lisbon as well as the Inn in Silves. Each place is unique.
