Wishing you well for your London trip and all those Americans attending the Protest Party. (I hope you won't be including King Charles III among the "No Kings" 😁
Hi Nancy, I hope you will join us in London for our registered Indivisible protest. We are calling it "No Tyrants" (obviously so that we dont offend our new home countries traditional monarchy). We will be in front of the US Embassy from 3-5pm. Ive followed you for years and would be delighted to meet you if you are able to attend. It's wonderful to see more of us citizens abroad getting involved to protest from where we are. Cheers!
Ok this is truly embarrassing….I thought it was Saturday and we showed up a day early. But never fear I won’t be wearing an Orange golf shirt…but we will be there (again). Look for us and our traveling companions…4 crazy former Americans living in Portugal.
Hi Nancy, I guess a day early is better than a day late, lol. I have volunteered to be a "steward or marshall" for Indivisible to help keep the perimeter safe. I'll likely have a high visibility vest on. My sign says Kick Out the Faux-King Clown and my black T shirt say Elect a Clown Expect a Circus. I may have on a red clown nose too. Haven't decided if I will get my face painted as a clown or not. Oh, FYI, they are telling people to bring a banana each--some group thing 🤷🏻♀️.
During the Cabaret performance we attended last night, all I could think about was the boiling frog effect and Trump in America. Denise and I will be there. I am wearing a florescente Orange golf shirt with a Quinta do Vale logo. We won’t have signs…but we hope you will find us in the crowd.
We’re not yet in Portugal (we’ve just turned in all the paperwork, etc. for our visas last week), but went to the No Kings rally in Edmonds, Washington, where the keynote speaker was Rick Steves. What amazed me was how many elders came out to protest Trump’s policies. I’ve attended demonstrations and marches since Vietnam, and the antiwar protests, the No Nukes marches, Black Lives Matter— they all tended to be young people. Not anymore, and it was good to see people in their eighties carrying signs.
We had a good turnout this morning in Lisbon. The person responsible for a microphone did not get there so the volume was low. Live and learn. They took a collection for a new one.
Wish I were there to celebrate. But I'll be joining "unbirthday" parties here! - in very red (& crazy) Texas.
bravo

We are celebrating "President Obama Day" on the 14th after participating in our local "No Kings" event. Enjoy London!
see you there!
Protest in my town, Arlington, Massachusetts. Despite the rain! Lots of beeping and waving from passing motorists!
Hope y’all have a great time!
Sounds like fun!
Thanks for the info; we just made a reservation for Friday night in Lisbon so we can participate!

That's awesome Nancy!!! I will look for you. I think the crowd will be in the hundreds, so hopefully I can find you.
Thanks for the info...we just might be there!
Once again, a fantastic and passionate crowd came out in Porto for the protest

Yes, here in Europe the turnout is markedly "older".

The turnout in London I estimate was nearly 1000.
I can’t find any news about No Kings Day in Portugal. Can someone provide it, with photos or videos?
I counted a little over 200.
We are in Olhão on vacation this month from the US, and will be holding up our sign at the market!
Is there an event in the Algarve?
Events in lLisbon and Porto. Lisbon is a quick bus or train ride
We are in Olhão, will be at the market at noon with our signs
