The video did not make me want to move into that particular community. It reminds me of the homes here on Hilton Head Island which are second, third or other homes that are empty almost all year. I am assuming you were interested in something with a bit more humanity? Or am I wrong?
Covid has really limited who can come to town. VRSA only has 3 hotels (one new) so most people are local. There are some vacation homes but they are generally the Portuguese people who live there. Monte Gordo is the town nearby which is the hotel mecca and Vacation Rentals/Airbnb etc. It's fun to go there as it is nearby when we want the summer craziness or to have all the amenities in the winter. VRSA itself is a pretty stable year around (although you'll never get away from it more being busy with shoppers and happy people from the north during the summer as it's still a beach town and beautiful), they just can't stay here over night...they have to go to the hotel towns for that. It's really hard to judge any town until you've visited and seen for yourself the vibe/people etc.
Yes, we have realized hotel space is very limited. In searching for a room for just two nights mid-week we were left with very expensive fare (Pestana or Grand Hotel) or just a few other options. Hope the Hotel Apollo is okay.
Yes, August is a "no-go" month for sure. Avoid travel in August. Since you're on a project it's a different issue, however. I've never been in the Apollo but since there are only 3 hotels in town it is an option. My Irish friends love it but we giggled when we found out it was under 70 a night, we explained (with our big group) we wouldn't stay in a hotel that cheap and most of us expect 150+ for a decent hotel in the states. My mexico trip was 400 for an all inclusive...really funny as they even thought 70 a night at the apollo was high. This was last month so I'm sure the price has doubled this month. Text me as I have a little house not in AirBnB that friends rent to friends for 90-110 a night. 2 bedrooms, kitchen and rooftop lounge (not sure if it's available as it's new but can check if you need it).
Thanks for including the video. VRSA is gorgeous.
You two are amazing! Glad our sweet little VRSA is a hit!

Like Veronica, the YouTube creator, we would prefer a in town location. The town has an official population of 11,000… small, yes
