Why subscribe?

In the beginning, our subscribers were all friends and family. Now thousands of people I don’t even know read my musings every week and we have met so many wonderful people. So WELCOME and THANK YOU for subscribing.

Perhaps you have met Onix … everyone loves her!

You might be wondering what led us on this journey or exactly how (or why) we did it in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.

You might have a bit of wanderlust..enjoy travel or even think about moving out of the US for a few years.

Whatever your reason, subscribe to get full access to my musings about life as an American in Portugal. I started writing in January 2021. We had just arrived and were in lockdown. As such, then I wrote quite frequently nearly every day. Over time, we developed a life here…a routine, and as such, you can now expect one new post each week. I will do my best to provide you with factual information on the process we went through and on the changes to the process over time. And we will offer photos and information on the places we visit. Since we are a bit crazy, we bought an old union hall and made it into the home we now live in. So I also write about buying, renting, and renovating properties in Portugal. And since I am an unapologetic liberal, I suspect from time to time I might comment about what I perceive is happening at home.
