We spent only two nights in Loulé. I have nothing against the town. In fact, there are some aspects I liked very much. Their Saturday farmer’s market is perhaps the largest in the Algarve.
It is so large that it pours outside the building into the streets, many of which are shaded by brightly colored banners.
Some of the architecture has a distinctively Moorish feel.
One of the main streets reminded me of an avenue in Barcelona.
And there is a strange gazebo with white plaster musicians.
Next week: how do you explain to friends in the States, in search of the best sangria, and how to tell if you are about to be ripped off for lunch.
Love the tree lined streets!
Re. the plaster musicians - at least they won't keep you up at night if you live next door.
