If you google Cascais you are bound to see an image like the one below. The first day I photographed it, it was cloudy and gray.
Since then, trying to capture the beauty of this spot, which is about 10 minutes into our daily walk, has become an obsession. To the right of the lighthouse is the Casa de Santa Maria, a Mediterranean-style villa built-in 1902. Originally a summer home for royalty it is now a museum. One of many we have not yet been able to visit due to lockdown. Meanwhile, I will snap (since I am using an iPhone I should probably say poke) away.
I see an iPhone photography class in my future.
Which is your favorite?
I took this photo on Tuesday. It closest to the “official” photo you see on the Cascais website and across google. The water is turquoise, the sky is blue, the barge is nearly centered in the distance.
The composition of photo #2 is my favorite, but love the color of the water in photo #3.
I like the third one a lot. The fourth would probably be my favorite, except for the lighting is distorted somewhat in the lower right of the pic. Great job!
