Thanks for the very interesting article. Awesome pics (yours and others). Love the pic of Denise with a sardine. We live just north of Coimbra. We will get to Algarve one day.
You should be getting commissions for your glowing commercials, Nancy. 🙂. Very good post, but it does have echoes of the many articles lately about overtourism in Europe.
My understanding is that kayaks are no longer allowed on the beach at Benagil. We went to the cave in October 2022 and the beach was packed with kayakers. The grottos west of the marina in Lagos are also worth a look. They have been a go-to place whenever we have visitors
Interesting report as ever. We have had an apartment in Olhão for 9 years now & have still not done this trip.
Thanks for this info. My wife & I will be visiting the Algarve in early October, and will definitely want to do a boat tour like this.
This tour looks fantastic.
I will have to consider it when I plan my Algarve trip.

We're exactly the same! It's taking a long time for us to get to the Big Stuff To Do in Lisbon!
We have twice done the grotto tour west of Lagos. Beautiful. But have not done this tour yet. I’ll see if we can beat your 900+ days

Kayaks were scatter on the bach if the cave…perhaps not being enforced
I hear the dolphins have been spotted in the Rio Formosa - that would be fun to see.
We saw a few in the Guadian River (in VRSA) one day
oooo - I'm jealous
