Dear Nancy, thank you so much for writing this post. You really captured the spirit of Art Lovers Algarve and the upcoming expo. As a freelance photographer and a sole proprietor, my career was all about competition. Now "retired", and working as hard as ever, I enjoying being part of a collective. Now it's about cooperation, and it feels so good. Portugal is a great place to be for this, the environment and variety of people and artists makes it work. Shelley Foley is working very hard, and you've done her right! And, your paintings are beautiful. Go girl!
Nancy, thanks so much for writing this post. I just waded through my morning mail which is all Contrarian, Heather Cox Richardson, etc., and was in quicksand. All this beautiful art brings me hope and joy. It sounds like making art brings hope and joy to you as well, so I hope you find the space to share with us, and bring this full circle.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos and a bit about the artists. Yours is stunning. You had me lost in the aisle for a minute until I realized you were painting at an easel. Keep writing! Keep painting!
How I would love to see all the art you and your fellow artists will have on display. It's terrific that you have stiffled your nerves and have shown a piece to your followers. I, for one, love it. I've known a number of artists who are self taught. Imagination and creativeity is difficult to teach...you either have it or you don't. Lessons can teach tecnique and use of different mediums, but your soul is uniue to you as is your expression.
That pig is by far my favourite piece! Perhaps because we live in the famous Barraido area of Portugual, known for Leitão (roasted suckling pig), sparkling wines, red wines and Luso water.
I absolutely love your painting Nans. It would have gone so well with another painting I had of fishermans huts which, because if my move back to Sweden where I have no room for it, I have now given to a good friend in Tavira. Good luck with the exhibition.
What a fantastic initiative, I’m sure it will be a huge success. The collective energy of so much quality art is inspiring. I love your painting Nancy, along with others you posted.

You go girl! Your work will do quite well at your first show, and like all good artists, you are evolving. Those big girl panties will fit just fine!
Hey Nancy, great stuff! I would love to draw/paint/watercolour but alas!
I would, however be happy to attend the expo in Silves. It would be lovely to meet up with you.
